We have had this gorgeous Bohemian Harvest inspiration shoot on the back burner for a month now, just waiting for Thanksgiving to roll around so we could share it with y’all.
With the Hudson River by our side, we drove North on a perfect autumn day in October to The Living Room, an intimate venue in Cold Spring where we collaborated with Brita Olsen Creative to create this “faux'” wedding shoot.
Cold Spring is a perfect close destination spot for a wedding. It has small town charm, Hudson river views, a sprawling waterfront with a beach nearby, woods with plenty of hiking and walking trails, and bed and breakfasts for your guests. Everywhere we turned there seemed to be another perfect backdrop for our bride and groom.
Our groom model was so bewitched by the views (and his stunning bride!) that he actually proposed to our bride model right there during the shoot! It was quite memorable, and lucky for them, they now have a physical imprint of this very special day…
Here are a few faves from our shoot:
Doily votive DIY:
The antique doily votives are a unique and simple DIY that anyone can master. Brita collected crocheted doilies on Etsy and from local flea markets, then painted them with fabric stiffener and laid them over a small plastic cup to dry overnight. When dry, the doilies will hold a cone shape that looks so lovely illuminated with a standard tea light. She then mixed them with fall leaves, greenery and speckled hydrangea and added grape clusters and pomegranates for a look that is full on fall romance!
